Mahoney Dermatology COVID19 Update

We are BACK and we are here to serve YOU!

We appreciate all of our patients, families, and friends for being understanding and supporting us during the last 6 weeks of downtime due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope this email finds you and your family healthy and safe! We have been given permission from the Governor to resume seeing patients and performing elective procedures. We are taking multiple steps to ensure the safety of both our patients and our staff. If you are one of our over 900 patients that had your appointment canceled due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, we ask that you call our office at 727-530-0920 or email newpatient@mahoneydermatology.com in order to help us reschedule your appointment. We appreciate your patience and assure you that we are currently hard at work scheduling everyone back in to see our providers in the most efficient, safe, and effective manner. We are taking into consideration patients with untreated skin cancers, a history of skin cancer, or those who are on systemic medications such as biologics. Please bear with us as we reschedule all of you, our valued patients. It is a truly monumental task!

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOUR VISIT: Please help us protect all patients and staff by following these guidelines when you visit our offices.

  • All patients and approved visitors will be screened for signs and symptoms of COVID-19. We appreciate your patience as this may create delays in entering our offices.
  • All patients will be required to wear a mask to enter the building. Please bring a face covering to your appointment to help us conserve PPE for health care providers.
  • We will be taking patients’ temperatures before they walk inside of our office, after asking a series of triage questions. If you have not been feeling well or have a fever, we kindly ask that you reschedule your appointment until 2 weeks after symptoms have improved. We also ask that you arrive alone for your appointment. If you are accompanying a child or minor or elderly patient, we ask that only one parent or caretaker accompany the patient.
  • We are now a credit card on file medical practice. What this means is that we will collect your credit card information before all office visits. After we submit the charges to your insurance, you will be notified of any charges for which you are responsible, and your credit card will be charged. This amount is for any amount that you are responsible for according to your insurance company, and includes but is not limited to copays, co-insurances and deductibles. You will be given more information about this during your visit. As always, we will keep your medical and financial information safe and secure and follow all industry standards.
  • We will be emailing you paperwork to be completed in the safety of your own home prior to your visit. You also have the option of downloading your paperwork on our website. If patients arrive without completed paperwork they will be asked to reschedule.

Caring for you means doing our part to keep you safe during your office visit.

  • We are conducting pre-screenings and in-office screenings for all patients and visitors, including daily temperature checks of all visitors and staff.
  • All patients, visitors and staff are expected to wear face coverings. PPE will be used and properly disposed of in higher-risk interactions.
  • We are following strict processes to sanitize our offices regularly.
  • We will not be utilizing the waiting room and will maintain social distancing

Things that are NOT different: Our continued mission to care for our patients, and to offer you and your family the best in compassionate care, accurate diagnosis, and cutting edge dermatology treatments!

Thank you for entrusting us with your care!

Yours truly,
Matthew H. Mahoney, M.D. and the entire Mahoney Dermatology Staff
