Mahoney Dermatology COVID19 Update

Dear Valued Patient,

Due to Governor DeSantis’ Executive Order 20-72, we are unable to perform any non-emergency procedures or surgeries until May 8, 2020. Due to COVID-19, we are unable to see patients for non-essential in-person visits. If you had a scheduled appointment with us before May 8, it has been canceled unless you have heard from our office. We are triaging all the appointments and seeing the few patients we are permitted to see during this pandemic. We are available for all skin emergencies. Please be patient with us as we are trying to contact everyone. We are setting up a “Teledermatology” option to have a live physician visit over the internet with Dr. Mahoney. If you would like to see Dr. Mahoney on a live video feed please call our office at 727-530-0920 and push option 1. Please leave us a valid email address, name, and date of birth. Most, but not all insurance companies will cover the virtual visit.

If you do have a confirmed appointment at our office we ask that you do the following.

Wait in your car and call 727-642-4652 when you arrive. Please wait in your car. Our staff will greet you in the parking lot and escort you straight to a treatment room. We will be utilizing all of our treatment rooms to minimize the number of patients waiting in the waiting room. Please only bring one additional person to your visit if absolutely necessary. Please note the wait time may FEEL longer while placed in one room, but we will continue to never double book appointments, and try our best to see patients on time. Our staff will treat you quickly and thoroughly in the order that patients are scheduled.

We have increased our use of cleaning products, including sterilization of doorknobs and surfaces in the rooms, we will continue to take universal precautions as always. We have increased the number of times we clean rooms and common surfaces each day with medical-grade disinfectant.

We ask that you kindly call the office to reschedule your appointment if you begin to demonstrate any of the following symptoms: heavy cough, fever, or shortness of breath. Many of our patients are of advanced age, and we do not want to put any of our patients or visitors at risk. Thank you so much for your anticipated cooperation.

Yours truly,
Mahoney Dermatology Staff
